CHIEF MENTOR'S MESSAGE

Bengal Institute of Business Studies has been established with the objective of creating industry-ready talent, capable of responding to the challenges of a dynamic environment. We have evolved a pedagogy focused on case studies to provide students with hands-on-exposure to the practical aspects of Finance, Marketing, Operations, Systems and Human Resource Management. We are acutely conscious of the fact that effective academic delivery in a Business School cannot be restricted to the confines of domain lectures only. With intense industry interface, we are trying to create certain critical differentiators which will give our students the cutting edge for excelling in today’s highly competitive environment.
 
 
In this endeavour we try to follow the mantras of strategy guru, Michel Porter who considers Differentiation and Focus as important generic strategies to achieve competitive advantage. We are striving to achieve differentiation through our innovative PGPBM programme, while our focus is exclusively on our MBA programme-nothing more nothing less. 
 
The programme is being delivered by a team of highly qualified academia, who are supported by top-of-the-line industry professionals. Our student faculty ratio is indeed a happy blend. While academic delivery of the highest order enriches students with strong domain knowledge, the BIBS Centre for Communication & Personality Development teaches grooming skills as well as offers lifestyle management support. 
 
We believe that Management is not merely an academic course; it is a way of life. We have, therefore, planned a structured two year PGPBM focussed on several emerging segments of the industry which could add immense value to the students and make them industry ready. This program has been conceived with active support from industry. The industry professionals have contributed to the framing of the curriculum. This, we believe, would create differentiation in our students and give them a feel a way of life called Management.
